Here is our situation tuition, room & board: $37,000 (tuition alone was 27k) paid by our ESA and 529 withdrawal no grants or scholarships. full pay to the private university our 2021 AGI 300-400k our kid worked with 5k w2 income and will file his own tax return (we claim him as dependent which I think is required even though we don’t get any benefits because he is already 19 years old) His Roth was contributed with 5k.
