Hello, my gf and I had a son during 2021.
For reason that are beyond the scope of this post, we would prefer I claim him as dependent, and at the same time I would file as HoH.
Problem is, rent in 2021 was always paid by my gf (with checks) and even though I gave her 50%, I gave her cash. Utilities are on her name as well, since she can get them reimbursed.
In other terms, how would I prove that I provide more than 50% for our son? Is there a concrete risk of an audit? My income is around $ 140K.
